New Patron Announced

At last nights Annual Awards function Ivan Martinovich, President of Masters Swimming WA, announced that Deane Pieters has agreed to be Patron of Masters Swimming WA.

Most will remember Deane as one of WA’s finest Olympic swimmers in the 90’s, however now he swims for fitness and health like the rest of us! Deane is a former freestyle swimmer who competed for Australia at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain.  He is also a former World Life Saving Champion (1990) and has won eight Australian Surf Life Saving Titles between 1990 to 1993.

He has represented Australia in swimming (1991, 1992 and 1993) and surf life saving (1990, 1991 and 1996).

Deane is currently General Manager of Business Strategy and Growth for the West Coast Eagles Football Club and formerly held the position of General Manager Marketing from 2001 to 2010.

Deane is a Graduate of the Stanford Executive Program as part of the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University, California, USA. He is also a graduate member of the Australia Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).

In 2010 , Deane won the Rottnest Channel Swim, going one better from his 2009 result.

We are very pleased to have Deane on our team and look forward to his valuable support.
