4 Feb 2010 Update:

1) 2010 National Swim in Tasmania - Entries close 22 Feb 2010. Download information from National website here . Team Manager file for BULK Club entry is here and available on Events page (pool). Participants can enter individually through National website however Club entry through Team Manager is preferred.

2) Black Swans Club meeting which was set for Wed 3 Feb at Sports House did not eventuate as there were no RSVP's received. It is too late now for this option for members to swim as Black Swans Club (second claim membership) at 2010 National Championships in Launceston however I will book another meeting soon for any interested members who might like to go as Black Swans to the 2010 FINA World Masters Championships in Sweden later in the year.

3) Technical Officials Courses and Workshops:
Officiating Courses for members to be held at Aqualife Centre, Somerset St East Vic Park:

  • Sat 27 Feb 10.30am - 2.00pm : Timekeeper, General Principles, Chief TK, Inspector of Turns
  • Sat 24 April 10.30am - 1.00pm : Marshal, Check Starter /Clerk of Course
  • Sat 19 June 11.30am - 3.00pm : Starter & Judge of Stroke
  • Sat 14 Aug 9.00am - 12.00 noon : Meet, Event and OWS Referee

iiNet Team Sprint Cup 2010
Perth's biggest Sprint Swimming Swimming Festival is on for its 3rd year, Feburaury 14th at 3pm with set age categories. Expect to see - Duncan Armstrong Olympic Gold medallist as Emcee, Kids activities, Live Band, Licensed area, the Fastest Swimmers in the State doing the dash for Cash, your favourite Sports Stars doing the Battle of the Codes and Perth's corporate teams racing for awesome prizes and pride!

Team Manager file (for ALL entries through Club Captains) for 2010 Dale Alcock State OWS event on Sat 27th March at Coogee Beach is hereand available on Events page (OWS). Individual entry form is attached (and on Events page - OWS) for members to complete & submit to Club Captains with payment.

Swimsuit rules which came into force from Masters Swimming Australia on 1 January 2010 are for Pool competition ONLY ie. Members can wear current swimsuits as per Masters Rules for training and OWS events. List attached .

Freo to Rotto Big Splash event has been cancelled.
From 1 January 2010 18 year old swimmers can join Masters Swimming clubs. Also National organisation will officially be known as Masters Swimming Australia as former title of AUSSI has been removed. Clubs can continue to use AUSSI in their names of course.
2011 National Masters Swimming Championships are coming to Perth. Dates confirmed for 27 - 30 April, with OWS on Sunday 1 May after 4 days of pool events at Challenge Stadium.
